Sitting Up - We're Growing Up!
James is sitting! Can't pull himself to sitting but can now sit up for several minutes on his own once I sit him up. We've entered a new exciting phase- gonna need some new toys. Our address is... Just kidding.

Each night Monday -Thursday Maggie's teacher has provided 3-5 minutes of homework to reinforce what they did in class that day. Today Maggie was to draw something loud and something quiet. I just about died with laughter when I asked her about the pictures (which were not labeled at the time) and she told me the loud one was a bell and a WATERMELON is quiet. While very true that melons are quiet, it is such a random choice. Oh. My. Quite the witty girl.

Maggie got to take the class Gingerbread Man home this weekend. Each kid in her class gets a turn. They are supposed to take a picture or two and then tell a story about what they did. all the other stories in the book are written by the parents... Maggie wanted to write it herself, so Tyler helped her spell out all the words but she wrote it herself. I am continually amazed at how she is learning and developing so quickly now that she's in school. My big girl!

6 Months of Sweet Baby James
Saturday marked James' 6 month birthday. What a chunka-hunka of love! I weighed him last night, and it looks like he's holding steady at about 20 pounds.
Current Achievements:
-is now rolling back to tummy AND tummy to back, he has started rolling all over the floor to get his toys.
-loves to eat solid food as long as it's in a mesh baby-pop holder. We've done bananas, pureed frozen sweet potato puree, frozen plum puree and his favorite fresh peach chunks.
-sleeps completely through the night every once in a while, I am still getting up most mornings at 4 or 5 to feed him, then he goes back to sleep until 7 or 7:30
-on a normal day takes 3 good naps
-had a GREAT! day in the church nursery today. Took a 2-hour nap and was happy the rest of the time he was in there. This is a major first for him; I get called out of the service or Sunday School most mornings to calm down a screaming baby. (what can I say, he loves his mama!)
-babbles up a storm!
-gives huge belly laughs for big sister
-is wearing 12-month clothes
Needless to say, we are just loving his presence in our family. I could chew on those cheeks all day! He is a constant reminder to me of God's faithfulness and provision and care and compassion.
