Maggie's New Face

Maggie found her lower lip this past week, and figured out how to make it disappear. She sucks it in from time to time and makes this cute new face! We love it.

Melissa's most recent wedding flowers

Here's a wedding I did this weekend. It took me about 30 hours from Thursday - Saturday to get everything ready. Maggie was babysat by my good friend Dixie on Friday, and Tyler got to play Mommy on Saturday. Whew! It was a lot of work, but I love flowers. Hope you like the pictures!

I'm four months old now - can you believe it?

Here I am, 4 months old. If I do say so myself, I am pretty darn cute. So far I can eat, sleep 9 hours at night, make dirty diapers, suck on my thumb (I prefer the right thumb, I think I may be a lefty), smile, drool, coo, cry, screech, giggle (Mom thinks that is the best!!!), pull hair, put toys in my mouth, suck on my lower lip, and roll over every once in a while. I think this being a baby business is pretty cool. Mom says I have to go to the doctor for my 4 month check-up on Thursday, and something about more shots. I didn't like them the first time, I don't think I'll like them the second time, either. I'll make sure to let her know that I don't like them.

Movie Time

Here is Maggie relaxing with her Dad after a hard day of eating, smiling and cooing, bath time, play time and nap time. So cute!

Maggie's 3-Month Portraits #1-5

Here are the 3-month photos of Maggie taken by our good friend Seth. I think they turned out great! But how could they not when we have the most beautiful baby on the planet? You can't tell from the pictures that she is a drool machine now, so that is good!

Grandparents, please let me (Melissa) know which ones you want an in what size. PLEASE NOTE: I had to scan these photos since they were done on film, not a digital camera, so the coloring is not exact, and some of them are crooked, I know. The actual pictures are so much better than these scans!!! Numbers 8 & 9 really do have a turquoise tint to them, though. Numbers 11 through 13 are black and white.

Backyard birds

I know this post doesn't pertain to Maggie, but I thought everyone might enjoy a little nature appreciation. Earlier this spring we had a robin build a nest in the rafters of our patio roof. Mama Robin would sit in there all day and fly out only when we went outside. Well, baby robins soon arrived. I could walk up to the nest and look up to see four tails or beaks, but didn't get that on camera. They flew out of the nest some time last week, and I was sad that they'd left before I got a picture.

Today, as I walked past our dining room window, I see something funny on the top of our SUV. I was happily surprised to see one of the baby robins sitting on the roof! Mama Robin came by several times in about 10 mintues to feed this little guy. Here are some pictures of our family of robins. Enjoy!

Three Months

Our internet was down for several days, so I am late in posting her three month photos. She weighs about 14 pounds now. And has grown out of most of her 0-3 month clothes; plus it's much warmer here in Nashville now so the winter clothes are getting packed up. We are getting professional photos this weekend so I'll post those, too.

The other picture is a first for Maggie: she had found her thumb, and it makes her so happy! I think it's cute. AND, I don't have to drag a pacifier around all the time now. Yay!

Oh, Wow. Talk about spit up!

CAUTION - FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DIDN'T LIKE THE DIRTY DIAPER POST, NAVIGATE AWAY FROM MY PAGE NOW. HERE'S ANOTHER "FUNNY" POST ABOUT THE JOYS OF PARENTHOOD.

Ok, I KNOW every parent deals with their babies' growth spurts, but this is ridiculous (you can see why by looking at the picture)! Wednesday, when we were still in Seattle at Tyler's parents, Maggie started a new growth spurt. At her noon feeding she nursed more than she ever has, I would venture to say that she was ravenous. When she was done, Amron burped her and changed her diaper (benefits of staying with grandparents!) and brought her back to me. I was holding Maggie up in their recliner, just holding and talking to her, when URP! Up came her entire, and I mean her ENTIRE lunch, all over me in two big burps.

Maggie has spit up before, and it has been a lot, but that was when she was only a month old or so. Now, at three months, it is A LOT of spit up. She coated me with a generous layer of spit up from my nose to my crotch, filled my bra, gave herself a good amount of coverage and coated the seat of the Spaid's recliner! I was lucky enough that Amron was nearby and helped me get out of the seat without getting it anywhere else, but I couldn't resist taking a picture of the aftermath. The picture really doesn't do the situation justice, the spit up was pooling on AND IN my shirt. We both required a bath after that one - go Maggie!
