Half a year gone, already???
Maggie turned 6 months old on Thursday. It still seems like we left the hospital with her only a little while ago. At her 6-month check-up on Friday she weighed in at 15 pounds, 10.5 ounces, and measured 27.5 inches long (for those who care thats the 50th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height). Her doctor gave her a once-over and everything looks good! We are so blessed with a happy, healthy baby girl - how did we live so long without her in our lives? And now my friends are getting pregnant with their second round of kids - makes me want another baby!!! I know I'm crazy, but that's a different story.
Anyway, here are her monthly boppy pictures - I rotated her around to the foot of the crib so her feet wouldn't be hidden by the bumper in the pictures. Look at her sitting up all by herself now. It is SO much fun. Enjoy!

Weekend at the Lake (Center Hill)
We spent a fun long weekend at Center Hill Lake with three other couples from our home fellowship group at church. Here is some proof:
Swimming on a gorgeous summer day ... from L - R: Kathy & Matt Lott with son Jake, Maggie & Tyler, Christie Dunn with Nyah, and Amber Newell, babysitter.
More fun in the water.
Even more fun with Daddy in the cabin.
Maggie looking pretty cool in her shades while we get ready to get in the boat.
Note to self: if you hurt your arm on Saturday while wakeboarding, it is NOT a good idea to still go wakeboarding on Sunday and again on Monday. I can barely use my left arm at the moment, and the bruises make it look like I've been beaten! But no broken bones or anything. I love wakeboarding!

I was right - a tooth!
Maggie's first tooth came in on Thursday, July 20th. We were busy getting ready to go to the lake that day, and we just got back, so here is a picture of her new tooth!!! Sorry for the picture being blurry - Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a picture of a tooth in a squirming baby's mouth?

No picture yet, but...
Maggie is getting her first tooth! It's bottom right, center. It is poking at the gums now, and when she bites my finger I can feel a little bit of sharpness.
Anyway, it's exciting for me. I can't wait for it to show enough to take a picture of it!

'Nother video of Maggie
Here's one of Maggie playing with her toys. It is pretty darn cute, not a lot of noise (except for me talking at the end) but lots of smiles. Enjoy!

What's that on Maggie's ear?
Notice anything different about Maggie? How 'bout the bling on her ear? That's right, Maggie got her ears pierced this morning! I've always wanted to have my baby girl's ears pierced, so I finally did it. Tyler gave the "ok" but didn't want to be there when it got done. And of course since it made her cry I feel horribly guilty, but I'm not taking them out.
How it went down: Off we went this morning right when the mall opened so if Maggie went nuts there wouldn't be too many witnesses. Now, with shots Maggie cries but it dies down quickly, which I was discussing by the lady that worked there (I'm pretty sure if it had been a teenager working there I wouldn't have gone through with it). So, the lady marked the spots, I concurred, she swabbed those precious lobes and pierced away. Well! Let me tell you Maggie just started wailing! Oh, I felt so bad - but she couldn't just have a single ear pierced, so I braced myself and had her go ahead with the second ear. It didn't get better - Maggie just wailed and sobbed and shrieked. But wouldn't you know it I just held her and within 2 minutes the sobbing stopped and she calmed down. I credit the baby Tylenol I gave her about 20 mintues before we went in for that!
This picture was taken after we got home and she had lunch, about 2 hours after the ordeal, and she seems to be her normal self. So that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Maggie's now got pierced ears.

Look - Maggie's new trick!
This post is a week late. Sorry about that! Maggie decided to surprise us all by sitting by herself on her 5-month birthday (6/27/06 - last Tuesday). I tried just for fun to see how far forward she would lean, but showed me up by sitting up all by herself! Here are some pictures of her showing off her new stunt. These pictures are from the last week.
And now that she can sit up on her own she needs a lot more to do, so Mama went to the store and picked up some new toys. Maggie's favorite activity is tipping over her basket of toys and trying to get them out. It was amazing to watch her learn how to pick up these little balls that make noise. At first she just couldn't do it, and now she knows exactly how to scoop them up since they are still too big to be picked up from the top.
A new toy!
Look at my hat! Mama put it on backwards - that's not how it's supposed to go!
This is my basket from Gramma Amron, I love to tip it over and get my toys out! This is my July 4th outfit - tiny stars all over it.

I hope this works. Here's the link to clipshack.com where I uploaded several VERY short videos of Maggie making noises. I hope you like them!
